Crazy Girl

Haven't had much to say lately.  A bit of a writer's block, I guess.  I'll just ramble.  Maybe that will help.  OK.  Life's been busy, as usual.
I've been just a little crazier than usual.  The progesterone cream's just not cuttin' it.  Our treadmill deck cracked in half while I was in South Carolina selling my jewelry.  That was a bummer on several fronts because walking and jogging seems to help my mental state.  And it helps Captain not to snore, which makes it possible for us to sleep in the same room, which is also good for my mental state.  So, now we've been trying to figure out how to buy a new one, with Christmas coming so soooon, that's probably not gonna happen.  And what's the deal with the holidays sneaking up on me every year??  I finally got a turkey yesterday, hope it'll thaw in time.  Besides that, I'm totally not prepared.  But one thing that we've been doing this year is trying to sell stuff on Craig's list... you know, that random stuff that's packed away in the attic, garage and closets that might just make some cash... which would be very handy this time of year.  Captain's selling his electric guitar--well, we'll see.  He's pretty attached to that thing.  And I'd like to get an old piano again.  I had to throw my other dear old piano away when we sold our house.  I miss it.  There's nothing like a good old fashioned piano being played in the living room throughout the day.  And that would be nice for me, too, because I like to play while I'm making meals-- you know, that time when you're waiting for the food to cook or the water to boil and you can't go very far away but you're just waiting?-- well, that's the perfect time to sit down and play a song.  I'm not sure why I don't just pick up my guitar... it's just not as soothing, I guess.
The jewelry business is moving right along.  That's neat.  I'm hoping to get lots of orders for Christmas.  I put Graci in charge of the facebook page and now I've got lots of teenage boys liking the page.  A lot of good that'll do us!  I've been enjoying Instagram.  Just discovered these free apps that let you write on pictures.  Of course I love that.  I'm gonna tell you guys all about how to make awesome homemade pizza.  Soon.  I didn't realize how many pictures I have of pizza on my iPhoto library.  There's a lot.  I'm a nerd.  I've had a killer cold for the past week.  Hit me out of nowhere.  So, today I've got lots of extra work to do to make up for my lazy week last week.  Being sick really kills my inspiration.  See?  It's all pretty boring, right?  I used to have this quote taped to my kitchen cupboard,

"Drudgery is the touchstone of character."

 Ain't it the truth!

So....What's up with you guys?  Have you started Christmas shopping?  Is you turkey thawing?  Do you play the piano while you're cooking?

  1. I have started my shopping. YAY! I'm not in charge of a turkey. I don't have a piano, but I do like to turn oldies on Youtube and dance with the littles while I cook.

  2. Yes to the shopping, but barely. No turkey, or anything else for that matter. Our kitchen is under renovations at the moment, so I am in charge of bringing store bought buns for leftover turkey. I'm actually pretty happy about it at the moment. I don't know how to play anything except Mary Had a Little Lamb, but I do get to listen to two of my kids play. That's nice.
    Have a lovely holiday!
