We've Been Busy

Update on the garden progress...
Turns out that we do actually have some dirt in our yard!  Yay!  Noah and I started digging around a few weeks ago and discovered where the previous owners had their garden rows.  The cats and chickens then discovered them.  So now we're working on a fence.

Most of the tomatoes and peppers are doing great.  Very happy to get out of their tiny little pots.

Ruthie was enjoying digging.  We're trying that method of planting tomatoes super deep.

Gee.  I think it might be time to transplant.  Yikes!

I'm trying some plants in containers.  Just because I like to watch them grow.

These are both the same age.  The one on the left got transplanted only one week earlier.

We're experimenting to see what works best.  Which dirt.  Holes in the bottom.  Gravel.  Etc.

And the garden is coming right along...

  Two new boxes in the works.  Look at that cool arbor thing Captain built!  It's gonna have the gate attached.  The ground is soooo rocky that we couldn't even sink a proper fence post.  So this is his clever solution.  It's cute, too.  : )

They just used a bunch of extra lumber.  He's pretty proud of it.  : )

Check out these potatoes!  I can barely keep them covered, they grow so fast!

Look at all my helpers!  Yay!  Annabelle looks confused.

Now that's what I like to see.  Guys with watering cans and power tools!  : )

These are the last of the transplants.  They're looking pretty sad, all crookedy and wild. 

Graci finally got in on all the action.  She was enjoying herself, I think.

Yep, she was.  So was everyone else.  And then it got dark.... And this is a really weird picture.
